Healthy Living Books for Christian Life


The Healthy Living Handbook: Simple, Everyday Habits for Your Body, Mind and Spirit by Laura Harris Smith is a guide to simple habits you can start today.

This book is a unique self-help book in that it does not have you rely on yourself, but instead, points you to God for supernaturally inspired health. The author emphasizes that we are made by a supernatural God, so we can certainly find true health supernaturally.

Our minds, bodies, and spirits are all connected, and we have to look at our 'health life' as a product of all three areas for true health.

If one area of our lives isn't up to par, the others will be affected.

The book is divided into three sections to cover each area of our lives: mind, body, spirit, with explanations of simple changes that will develop habits for a healthier and happier life.

The author teaches readers how to apply God's teachings and overcome challenges with the help that the Holy Spirit provides. Once we learn to recognize this help, we can welcome it and thrive from it. 

The author provides workable steps to help discern the guidance of the Holy Spirit in every aspect of our lives.




Winning the Battle for the Night: God's Plan for Sleep, Dreams and Revelation is a life-changing book from Faith Blatchford. The author show us how, many times, we have literally handed our sleep life over to the enemy. In our busy lives, many of us (most of us) don't give sleep the sacred value it deserves. 

Sleep is often an afterthought, and it is often not the restful respite it is intended to be. We let business, technology, worry, anxiety, and other distractions rob us of the sleep we need, thereby robbing us of the restorative and "precious time that God imparts everything necessary for us to be equipped for the day." 

Our lack of peaceful night sleep robs us of emotional, physical, and spiritual health. Winning the Battle for the Night gives readers the tools to "take back your night, to encounter the God of rest, and to sleep peacefully the whole night through."

This book is one of my favorites for improving my health. Sleep is a huge issue for me personally, and Winning the Battle for the Night has given me a whole new perspective on its value and the tools to gain a healthy night life!
