Grandma's Guest Review: Every Perfect Gift

Grandma really enjoyed this one:

The Hickory Ridge Series ends on a happy note at Christmas time in Every Perfect Gift, an excellent read for the holiday season.

This is a sweet historical Christian romance, and it captures your attention from the start. The reader is transported back in time to Hickory Ridge, Tennessee, where Sophie Caldwell returns after being gone for an extended time. She plans to stay in the growing community and build a life for herself while she takes on the task of rejuvenating the newspaper.

The suspense lasta until the very end as Sophie considers marrying Ethan. Sophie's journey from an orphanage to becoming a successful businesswoman has its challenges; Ethan has challenges of his own. As their relationship grows, they both must come to terms with their past.

God's guidance is important for both of them, and knowing that he will take them where he wants them to be is such a good lesson in faith.

The faith displayed by characters in the book is so touching, it makes me realize that in life "the rest is up to God," in every day and in every way.

I eagerly await a new historical romance from Dorothy Love in 2013. I look forward to the story being set in South Carolina.

Anyone looking for a book that makes you feel good will enjoy this novel.
